Yahoo! Briefcase

It is another jolt for people using internet storage services. Recently AOL closed down their X’Drive. Though I was not using it much, I had a few files that required downloading.  Now Yahoo is closing down their Yahoo! Briefcase. I was using Yahoo! Briefcase for fairly long time to store my files on the cloud. Whenever, I needed files away from home I used it for quite a good measure.

Its a headache if a trusted service is closed down. Important files are stored on these services, believing that these services will be around for a long time.

But there is nothing to get frustrated about, as there are quite a few good serivces to store files on the internet. I particularly like mediafire.com. It has easy interface and offers unlimited space.  Then there is Adrive.com and Box.net and others. Certainly there is no dearth of services available but it requires efforts to move files from one service to another. Best of efforts.
